Charlie DeFelice
Charlie is a Technology Executive that has been in the Financial Services Industry for over 35 years.
His experience includes 26 years at JP Morgan Chase, where he was involved in each global merger and acquisition. He led teams that created and implemented the bank’s wholesale customer profitability program, re-engineered their global wholesale credit management environment, and managed the planning, design and implementation functions for their Global Financial Architecture effort for the CIO & CFO, involving the decommissioning of over 400 applications & 23 G/Ls, spanning over 50 countries.
In 2004, Charlie joined Citigroup as Senior Vice President creating & leading the Customer Information Environment Program for the CEO & CIO. He was responsible for the design and implementation of a SOA-based Customer Centric technology and operations environment, supporting Citi’s 200+ million customers, spanning 101 countries. He completed the first phase in just 10 months, transforming 51 million customers across 7 lines of business and 4 distribution channels. This platform is still being utilized and leveraged today.
During 2007, Charlie joined Freddie Mac as the head of Finance & Corporate Systems for the CIO. He led a team for the CFO to re-engineer their financial processes & applications. At the same time, he significantly decreased their monthly financial close cycle to less than 45 days to allow them to become an SEC Registrant while helping to resolve several material weaknesses that were uncovered during an audit from the previous year.
During 2008 & 2009, Charlie began consulting for the Government via CMG, Inc. He helped create the Business & Technology Transformation strategy for consolidating all corporate processes & applications across the community, completed version 1.0 of their first ever Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA) blueprint, and presented roadmaps & status quarterly on Capitol Hill to Senate and Congressional sub-committees overseeing the Intelligence Community as well as the Office Of Management and Budget (OMB) for the White House.
From 2010 thru 2011, Charlie was reporting to the Director of the FHA Transformation Initiative at HUD assisting with their FHA Transformation initiative – the first one in over 30+ years. The first phase of the project has gone live six months ahead of schedule while being significantly under budget.
He has spoken globally on Business Transformation, CRM, Customer Centricity and Global Financial Business architectures.
